The
CLMP provides sampling methods, training, workshops, technical support,
quality control, and laboratory assistance for volunteers to monitor
their lake for chemical and physical indicators of lake productivity. Volunteers may
then classify their lake according to its level of productivity--known
as it's trophic state-- using Carlson’s TSI. Long-term monitoring of these
indicator parameters on a consistent and regular basis provides the data needed to
recognize changes/trends in lake productivity.
Training
for the CLMP is regularly
conducted at the ML&SA Annual Conferences held in the spring of each
year.
Training
for Year 2003 will be conducted on April 25, 2003 at Shanty Creek in
Bellaire Michigan.
